In June 2007, with the adjudication of SAP ERP implementation Project in Nova Cimangola, the largest cement company in Angola, starts a new cycle in konkconsulting’s life. The cmpany takes on the responsibility to be successful in the global implementation of the logistic and financial modules, with extremely aggressive deadlines, in such a risky conjuncture as the Angolan reality. It was a challenge we took to be able to prove that our vision of consulting and team leadership, matured by years of experience, was really differentiating and capable of success in major risk conditions.
We started the project end July 2007, with a schedule that aimed the go-live of the financial modules connected with the major logistic processes (MM and SD) for the end of October, in order to have the SAP system as the only source for the closure of the fiscal year of 2007. This first phase of the project goes productive with one week delay, in the beginning of November. We can list as major success factors:
- Creation of a very experienced, goal focused team.
- Considering always our responsibility the conclusion timings of the processes, even when they are depending on the client’s team. The motto was to insist and help obtaining answers and decisions.
- Never abandon the operational users during the go-live phase that lasted till January 2008. The expedition was 24/7 and during one month the konkconsulting team had someone to support the users 24/7.
- Unconditional support from the Board not only on the decision making process, as well as when was necessary to reinforce time and resources in the Go-Live support team.
The trust we achieved from this important client made us improve in the area of creation of systems infra-structures, due to the client’s insistence to be konkconsulting the entity responsible for the design, construction and implementation of the new datacenter for Nova Cimangola. This project was concluded in October 2008, and has been productive since. This capacity for adaptation, creation of teams and meeting the clients needs are, from our point of view, differentiating in the market and a major success and growth factor for our firm.
